His Greatness, Not Mine神的大事

Over the last couple of years, you would often hear me asking God: “What is your purpose for me?” or “What is Your will?”. These questions stem from a certain inner belief in me, that I am destined for something greater, and whatever God has planned for me so far, probably wasn’t what I wanted. That’s probably why I kept asking for something more and something different!
Walking with Oswald Chambers (church daily devotion) through 2021 has really made me rethink my beliefs. Imagine a child who keeps asking his father "what is your will for me?" That's strange, isn't it? A child who has an intimate relationship with his father will know his father's heart and what is the obedient thing to do. He may not yet understand his father’s grand plans for him, but he certainly knows what he needs to do now.
When we build our relationship with God and obey God like a child would obey his father, we will learn the will of God. God has inspired many to write his instruction for us through His Word. The things that we are called to do are right in front of us! We need to practice faith and love, and to humble our hearts and be faithful with the seemingly small things. Have we loved the people around us? Is there more that we can do to serve them? Is love the driving force in the major decisions in life?
When we obey what we’re told like a child, we will grow to understand God more and he will make Himself more known to us.
Let us start by being faithful in the small things and trust that He will prepare us for HIS greatness, and not our version of it.

过去的几年里，你应该经常听见我问上帝，“祢造我的目的是什么?”，“祢在我生命里的旨意是什么？”这些问题源自我心里一种相信自己应该成就更大的事的信念，而到目前为止，神为我所安排的，并非完完全全是我想要的。这或许就是我一直向神祈求多一些或不一样的东西的原因！
Oswald Chambers在我每日的灵修伴我走过了2021，也让我重新思考自己的信念。试想想，假如一个孩子成天拉着自己的爸爸问，“你给我的旨意是什么？”这是不是有点怪呢? 一个与自己的父亲有着亲密关系的孩子一定明白父亲的心意，也知道该怎么遵从父亲。他或许不完全了解父亲在他生命中的大计，但他一定知道自己现在应该怎么做。
当我们与天父建立关系，遵从祂如同孩子遵从他的父亲时，我们便会知道神的旨意是什么。神启发了许多人将祂的指示记录下来。神要我们做的事其实就摆在眼前！我们必须实践信心和爱，对看似微小的事保持一颗谦卑的心及忠诚态度。我们对周遭的人表现出爱与关怀了吗？还有什么事，是我们可以为他们做的？需要做生命中重要的决定时，爱，是不是主要的推动力？
当我们如孩童般遵从神时，我们将会更认识神。祂也会更多的向我们显明祂自己。
让我们从小事上开始对祂忠心，并相信祂将会预备我们成就祂的大事，而不是我们心里所想的。
