Bible Verse: Matthew 15:21–28
1. Politically . . . He Ignores (15:22–24).
“Kyrie (Lord), the Son of David, Have mercy on me.”
2. Pathetically (pathos, “suffering” / “emotion”) . . . He Insults (15:25–26).
“Kyrie (Lord), Help me.”
3. Personally . . . He Indulges (15:27–28).
“Kyrie (Lord), Yes, even the puppies eat from the crumbs that fall off their Lords’ (Kyrie’s) tables.”
Announcements
We want to welcome all our guests, brothers and sisters for joining our Sunday service. Our vision is to be a “disciple-making church among our communities” and there are 3 missions “Discipleship, Community, Missions”. We invite you to join us as we progress toward this goal. We hope that ECF Holy Word will be the place to nurture your spiritual growth!
The church will hold a 2024 ministry planning meeting on coming Friday, August 4, from 9am-5pm at church. Church leaders, pastoral and ministry leaders please reserve this day to discuss and plan for the church's ministry in 2024.
The church will be holding Annual General Meeting(AGM) on coming Sunday August 6. Since it will be a combine service that day, the AGM will begin at 12pm, so please take note!
This coming Thursday evening(8pm) is our church's August combine prayer meeting. It will take place in #74 Service Hall. Please prepare your hearts and come together to pray before God!
Kailer Christian Church is the church that was planted in Johor Bahru 25 years ago by Pastor Lydia Wong. They will have their 25th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service and luncheon on October 21st (Saturday), 12pm-3pm! If you would like to attend this thanksgiving service, please sign up with the pastors or cell group leader. We will arrange transportation to attend if needed!
After several months of discussion and observation by the pastors and leaders of the church, and after learning about the practices of other churches, we have decided to stop providing live stream link widely from October onwards. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to come back to the church to participate in the physical worship services. We will continue to live-stream every service, but we will only provide the link to those who need it: those who are sick, those who have difficulty traveling, and those who are overseas. Details will be announced at a later date.
Elderly bible study will be held on Wednesday at 10am. Please join us!
