Announcements

We want to welcome all our guests, brothers, and sisters for joining our Sunday service. Our vision is to be a “disciple-making church among our communities” and there are 3 missions “Discipleship, Community, Missions”. We invite you to join us as we progress toward this goal. We hope that ECF Holy Word will be the place to nurture your spiritual growth!

  1. Chinese Christian Mission will hold a 45th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration on October 18 (Tuesday) 8pm at Thomson Baptist Church. Brothers and sisters are welcome to attend and celebrate Lord's grace together!

  2. At the Deacon Council meeting on July 22, 2022, Rev Ng Eng Keng proposed the ordination of Ps Andrew Xu. This proposal was unanimously approved by all deacons and Rev Ng was asked to form an Ordination Committee. The following are the members of the Ordination Committee: Reverend Dr. Michael Shen, Reverend Dr. Clement Chia, Rev. Dr Philip Huan, Reverend Peter Koh and Reverend Ng Eng Keng(Convener). The first Ordination Committee meeting was held last Wednesday successfully. Please pray for the whole ordination process and preparation to proceed smoothly!

  3. In this year’s December 17-19 (Sat-Mon), our church will be having a retreat for youths and young adults. In line with this year’s church theme—A Treasured Being, “Chosen” will be our retreat theme. This retreat is open to everyone in the Joseph Pastoral Zone. So, let’s take a pause from our busy lives to meditate on our identity and values in Christ. Let’s be recharged and refreshed to serve God!
Retreat location and fees will be released soon. For any enquiries, feel free to approach Mentor Grace Gan (9118 1335) or Camp Commandant Sister Grace Lim (8787 9831). See you there!

  4. The English New Testament overview course arranged by the church will conduct the third lesson on coming Saturday. Please be on time. The Chinese course will be taught by Mrs Lee-Yeung Kam Lan on November 5, 12, 19, 26 (4 classes). Both courses will be held on Saturdays from 10am to 11.30am via Zoom. Brothers and sisters can sign up through your cell group from today onwards.

  5. Our church's Elderly Pastoral Zone has arranged a day trip to Muar (Malaysia) on Wednesday, November 2. A total of 38 brothers and sisters and friends are participating. Please submit the application form and fee to Rev Ng as soon as possible. Bible study will be held on coming Wednesday at 10am as usual, so please be on time!

    Prayer Pointers

  1. The owner of the unit that our church is currently renting at Quartz Industrial Building has sold the unit. We will need to move out latest by end of next year. The church leaders are currently actively looking for a viable option. Please remember this in your prayers.

  2. Congregation prayer concerns:
Let us continue to keep Brother Tan Keng Khim, Sister Sam Kwai Leng and Sister Ling Ie Cheng in prayer.
