God’s Strength Is Made Perfect In Man’s Weakness

Humans seem to be getting smarter and richer in knowledge in this present age. While it appears to be a good thing, it has hindered our reliance on God! The increase in knowledge and capability often creates an illusion that we do not need God, and that we can resolve every single issue with our own strength.
Paul is a person of stubborn nature and strong willpower. When he travelled around on missions, he bravely faced adversities. It is safe to say that he served God by his own strength in the earlier part of his life. Yet, after receiving Christ, there was a profound change in his life. Paul was tortured by a thorn in his flesh (2 Corinthians 12:7), but it was exactly this thorn that allowed him to see his own weakness and limitation, which ultimately led him to let go of his pride.
Thinking of the current pandemic that shook the whole world, it is probably a huge wake-up call for humanity. That despite our remarkable level of knowledge, when facing a microscopic virus, our fragility and limitations are revealed.
Dear brothers and sisters, we must return to God and boldly acknowledge our weaknesses, for God has reminded us that His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness! Let us not boast about our successes and smarts but praise the Creator of this universe and all that is in it alone, so that His strength may come upon us, allowing us to accomplish greater and better things for Him, and to His glory.
