Announcements
We want to welcome all our guests, brothers and sisters for joining our Sunday service. Our vision is to be a “disciple-making church among our communities” and there are 3 missions “Discipleship, Community, Missions”. We invite you to join us as we progress toward this goal. We hope that ECF Holy Word will be the place to nurture your spiritual growth!
The church will hold a 2024 ministry planning meeting on Friday, August 4, from 9 am-5 pm at the church. Church leaders, pastoral and ministry leaders please reserve this day to discuss and plan for the church's ministry in 2024.
The church will be holding its Annual General Meeting(AGM) on August 6. Since it will be a combined service that day, the AGM will begin at 12 pm, so please take note!
Kailer Christian Church is the church that was planted in Johor Bahru 25 years ago by Pastor Lydia Wong. They will have their 25th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service and luncheon on October 21st (Saturday), 12pm-3pm! If you would like to attend this thanksgiving service, please sign up with the pastors or cell group leader. We will arrange transportation to attend if needed!
After several months of discussion and observation by the pastors and leaders of the church, and after learning about the practices of other churches, we have decided to stop providing live stream link widely from October onwards. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to come back to the church to participate in the physical worship services. We will continue to live-stream every service, but we will only provide the link to those who need it: those who are sick, those who have difficulty travelling, and those who are overseas. Details will be announced at a later date.
Elderly bible study will be held on Wednesday at 10 am. Please join us!
The church will conduct the General Council(GC) and Deacon Board(DC) members’ re-election for years 2024-2025 in November this year. The Nominating Committee, convened by Rev Ng, has been formed. They are Rev Ng(Convener); Brother Sunny Leong See-Lok(GC Representative); Sister Dorothy Lim Hwee Leng(DC Representative); Brother Patrick Tay Soon Huat(Chinese Service Representative); and Sister Grace Gan En Hui(English Service Representative). Pray that the Lord will give them wisdom in nominating candidates that are pleasing to God.
Prayer Pointers
Sister Chin Tai Cheng has returned home to recuperate. Her daughter has also arranged for a maid to take care of her and accompany her. Please continue to remember her in prayer!
Please continue to remember Sister Koh Wee Ching in your prayers. She has been transferred to Ang Mo Kio Thye Hua Kwan Hospital last Thursday for physiotherapy and recuperation. Please continue to pray for her recovery.
Let us continue to keep Brother Wong Teh Kok, Brother Tan Keng Khim, and Sister Sam Kwai Leng in prayer.
