Announcements
We want to welcome all our guests, brothers, and sisters for joining our Sunday service. Our vision is to be a “disciple-making church among our communities”. We invite you to join us as we progress toward this goal. We hope that ECF Holy Word will be the place to nurture your spiritual growth!
For last week’s Chinese service, there were 38 attendees in church (including the speaker and those on duty) and 55 online viewing points. And for English service, there were 47 attendees in church (including speaker and those on duty) and 7 online viewing points. There were 2 teachers and 4 children in the Sunday School.
The church has scheduled 3 Oct as the Church Combine Family Day. The theme is "Where We Truly Belong". After the worship service, from 11am to 12.30pm, we will have a family day activity through Zoom, an online platform. Brothers and sisters who do not have access to the internet can come to the church and participate in the event. We also welcome your family members to join us. You can register for free starting today by going to the church website or filling out the registration form!
The church is scheduled to conduct the re-election of the new General Council and Deacon Council on 10 October. Due to the pandemic, the election will be by postal ballot. Click here to see an introduction of our candidates for the re-election. Please remember in your prayers.
We will continue with the Alpha course this afternoon from 3pm to 5pm. Those who are attending, please be on time.
Please note that the Wednesday Senior Bible Study will be suspended once this coming Wednesday due to the recent increase in the COVID19 cases.
On Thursday, 16 Sept, the pastors will gather English and Chinese ministry leaders and pastoral co-workers through the online Zoom platform at 8pm. The pastors will share their ministry emphasizes and strategies for 2022. All co-workers are invited to attend on time.
Prayer Pointers
The list of candidates for the next General Council and Deacon Council of the Church is now available (please refer to the insert). Please remember all the candidates in your prayers and ask the Lord to give them a godly and loving heart to serve the Lord and the church!
According to the World Health Organization, as of 5 September, more than 5.35 billion people worldwide have been vaccinated. Please pray for the entire vaccination process to go smoothly.
Please continue to pray for the COVID19 pandemic situation in Singapore. As reported by the Ministry of Health on 9 September. There are 664 cases hospitalized, including 7 people in intensive care units.
Please continue to remember Reverend Ruth Ho in your prayers. A month ago, the MRI scan showed one large and two small tumours in the liver. Now, the two small tumours cannot be seen on the ultrasound scan, but the larger tumour is one centimetre longer than before. The doctor said that the tumour may have softened and turned into a liquid state, causing the image to show a larger area. This examination also revealed an increase in the cancer index, but it may have taken the dead cancer cells into account. As for the tumour in the rectum, it is not known whether it has enlarged. Further examination is needed to determine this.
Let us continue to keep Brother Goh Wee Shin, Brother Tan Keng Khim, Sister Lim Yoke Hong, Sister Yue Soon Lin, and Sister Mary Teo in prayer.
