Announcements
We want to welcome all our guests, brothers and sisters for joining our Sunday service. Our vision is to be a “disciple-making church among our communities” and there are 3 missions “Discipleship, Community, Missions”. We invite you to join us as we progress toward this goal. We hope that ECF Holy Word will be the place to nurture your spiritual growth!
We give thanks that the church leadership have concluded our planning meeting for 2024 on the 4th of August. All pastoral zone leadership please remember to finalize and input your pastoral zone activities by today.
Rev Andrew Xu will be leading a short-term mission team to Northern Thailand from September 17 to 23 to co-work with Rev Low Seng Huat who is serving there. Brothers and sisters who will be participating this time include Sister Ng Siew Kim, Sister Jessie Ling and Sister Tan Jie Yi. Please remember in prayer!
General Council/Deacon Council Nomination Committee will be having a meeting on this coming Thursday. It will be held at 8pm via Zoom. Committee members are requested to be on time!
The church will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting(EGM) on Sunday, September 24 at 1:30pm. The main agenda is about the sale of church property and the purchase of new property. This is a major agenda for the church, please reserve time to attend the EGM on that day!
After several months of discussion and observation by the pastors and leaders of the church, and after learning about the practices of other churches, we have decided to stop providing live stream link widely from October onwards. Brothers and sisters are encouraged to come back to the church to participate in the physical worship services. We will continue to live-stream every service, but we will only provide the link to those who need it: those who are sick, those who have difficulty travelling, and those who are overseas. Details will be announced at a later date
Prayer RequestsLast week, Brother Sunny Leong, Chairman of the Church's General Council had sent out the application to MND. Let us pray for a favourable outcome of our impending consultation and appeal with MND on the possibility to swap the religious use allowance from #74 to #70.
Congregation prayer concerns:
(1) Please continue to remember Sister Koh Wee Ching in your prayers. In principle, the hospital will discharge her at the end of this month. The family is currently making arrangements for Sister Wee Ching's discharge, including arranging for physiotherapy, adjustments and purchases of equipment for her home after her discharge.
(2) Let us continue to keep Brother Wong Teh Kok, Brother Tan Keng Khim and Sister Chin Tai Cheng in prayer.
