Announcements
Welcome to ECF Holy Word Church! As we gather on this first Sunday of the year, we come with hearts full of joy and hope, worshipping our Lord and embarking on a new spiritual journey. This year’s theme is “Break Walls, Build Bridges,” as we seek to deepen our relationship with God, with one another, and even beyond the church to build unity and love. Whether this is your first time here or you have been part of this family for years, we warmly invite you to continue this spiritual journey with us. May ECF Holy Word be a place where your faith grows and flourishes!
Last year, during our Missions Sunday, we received a total of $37,420 in pledges dedicated to mission work. As we step into 2025, let us faithfully fulfil these pledges, partnering together to advance God’s kingdom and share His love with the nations.
If you wish to be baptized or transfer your membership in this year’s Easter Sunday, please register with your cell group leader or zone pastor by the end of January. Baptism classes will commence in mid-February.
The church has specially printed Chinese New Year Ang Pow packets for everyone during this festive season. These packets are designed to convey blessings and provide an opportunity to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with your family and friends. May this season be a beautiful opportunity to share Christ’s love and hope! The packets are expected to arrive soon and will be displayed at the entrance of #74. We encourage you to collect them based on your needs and give a freewill offering as you feel led.
There will be a combined cell meeting for a background study on the Book of Acts in January. The English session will be held this coming Friday, 10th January, at 8 pm, and the Chinese session will be on Sunday, 12th January, at 11.30 am. Both sessions will take place in the church sanctuary at #74. We encourage everyone to join this meaningful time of learning and fellowship.
There will be a pre-study session for the Acts Bible Study specifically for cell leaders. This pre-study will cover sessions 1-3 of the upcoming Bible study. Attendance is compulsory for all cell leaders. The pre-study for Chinese language cells will be held today after service at 11.30 p.m. (physical session), and the pre-study for English language cells will take place on 15th January 2025 (Wed) at 8 pm via Zoom.
The elderly bible study will be held this Wednesday at 10 am. This season, Rev Ng will lead us in learning God's word through bible reading and prayer, please be on time!
Prayer Requests
As we step into the new year, let us reflect with gratitude on God’s grace in the past and move forward with confidence in His faithfulness. Through every season, God’s great love and faithfulness have guided us, and through Jesus Christ incarnate, He has given us hope to break down barriers and build connections. In this new year, may we continue to grow in His grace, break walls in relationships, and build bridges of love and truth to share this hopeful message with many more!
May the Lord grant favour for URA to approve our rezoning application, and may this place be given to us as a base to bless the communities.
Congregation prayer concerns:
Let us continue to keep Sister Lee Fong Mei, Brother Goh Hun Sheng, Brother Tan Keng Khim, Brother Wong Teh Kok and Sister Koh Wee Ching in prayer.
